THEYA
Print design, logo design, photography, layout design, branding.
THEYA is a collective community diary that documents and celebrates the lives of young adults, combining personal stories with various creative mediums. From photography to collage, drawings, scanned objects, and design, I aimed to create a multifaceted publication that felt as personal as it was collaborative.
As the sole creator, I handled every step of the process, from photography and layout design to the printing and binding of the final piece. The project reflects a passion for storytelling and community, blending raw, authentic voices with visual elements that reflect the emotional depth of each contributor.
I’m particularly proud of how this project resonated with the audience at my final BFA show, where it became one of the most popular pieces during the opening day. It was a true full-circle experience to bring a concept to life in such an impactful way.

Theya is a platform in the form of a print magazine collection, offering inspiration, self-expression, and joy to marginalized young adults. this is the first concept issue, focusing mainly on queerness, blackness, femininity, and growing older. For marginalized youth specifically, I think people often forget that we are more than the injustices we face, contrary to what mainstream media highlights. We have passions, hobbies, and interests. We love, we create, and we’re analytics.

THE BRAND CONCEPT
The name theya is inspired by the planet and Titan, “Theia”, both the mother of the moon in greek mythology, and the hypothesized planet that created our Earth’s core and moon. The moon as a symbol harbors themes of the feminine, dreams, and the arts, and by replacing the “i” with a “y” to create the pronoun “they”, we create a space for our collective community.
